Paris

The vibe: Romantic and avant-garde

Paris is home to some of the world's most famous designers. Dior, Balenciaga and Chanel, to name just a few, and it's here that fashion becomes fairytale. The artistic feel that permeates the fashion world here is evident throughout the city, from unique boutiques, to art, to food.

Where to stay:

The Ritz and the Four Seasons George V are the hotels of choice for Hollywood stars and fashion icons alike during Paris Fashion Week, and though tres expensive they are great for celebrity spotting. Hotel Costes is another home from home among the fashion crowd - where the most influential editors stay. For a chic yet comfortable atmosphere, complete with Frette sheets, try Hotel Montalembert in the heart of Paris - Kylie's favorite, or Le Bellechasse, a small boutique hotel near the Musee d'Orsay, whose 34 unique rooms have been decadently designed by Christian Lacroix.

Where to eat:

For quick lunches and afternoon snacks, Angelina's is a favourite with the fashion crowd during fashion week. Warm and cozy, oozing old-school charm, this salon, near the Place de la Concorde offers cups of African hot chocolate, yummy salads and quiches. Café de Flore (172 Boulevard St-Germain) is another must stop spot in the City of Light, where intellectuals from Jean-Paul Sartre to models like Jacquetta Wheeler have hung out and dined. Anyone who is anyone will be there.

Where to go out:

Le Baron (6 avenue Marceau) is where Bjork, Sofia Coppola, Carmen Kass, Jessica Stam and Irina Lazareanu rub shoulders when in town; the venue is also where Nicholas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga was just one of a handful of designers who threw their after show party there last year. Le Drugstore (133 avenue Champs Elysées) is another Parisian hotspot with an impressive, futuristic 1960s façade, behind which lies a gourmet food shop, a newsstand and a restaurant with a menu devised by the infamous Alain Ducasse.(The French Gordon Ramsey!) For clubbing head out to Neo (23 rue du Ponthieu), a well known hangout of the fashion crowd including Nicholas Ghesquiere and stylist L'Wren Scott.

The Look:

It's about effortless chic and a creating that mysterious air of 'Je ne sais quoi'.
Think Clemence Poesy in her girlie mini dresses meets the classic elegance of Chanel front row regular, Charlotte Casiraghi.

Where to shop:

Colette is must stop for the hottest, newest, latest anything and everything! Besides the luxe boutiques of Dior, Hermes, YSL et al which are all worth visiting, try Rick Owens for soft, body conscious cashmere, leather coats and cardigans or APC, a store packed full of preppy - chic Parisian basics.

Don't leave without:

Heading to the Editions de Perfumes Frederic Malle shop (37 rue de Grenelle), a sophisticated perfume shop designed by Andre Putman, which stocks some of the world's most exclusive scents. It's also worth investing in some Fifi Cachnil lingerie while in town - it's a little bit cheaper than in the UK and you'll find more variety..

Beauty SOS

Relieve all fashion-week tension at Bikram Yoga Paris, a favorite spot with Madonna and Elle McPherson. Or enjoy some pampering with Carita's most popular treatment, the Ideal-Pro-Lift, a 'facial' that restores your face to its pre-fashion week glory at the famous La Maison de Beaute in Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
